Unfortunately,
car wrecks cause more than just headaches and traffic! There are hundreds of thousands of
cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles on the roads in the Greater Houston Area
every day. More 18 wheeler tractor
trailers pass through Houston than any major city in the U.S.! Even the most careful
drivers stand a good chance of being involved in an accident at some point
while driving in Houston. It is
crucial that you know what to do in case you are in a wreck.
Some
accidents produce bodily injuries – some minor – some major. Some injuries caused by these countless
accidents can be severe and
life-threatening, or even fatal. In the most fortunate of cases, the accident
victims are able to walk away with less severe injuries. If you've been injured in
an accident,
whether your injuries are severe or relatively minor, The Law Firm of Gregg S.
Harrison PLLC can help with your claim.
Unfortunately,
people often find that after an accident, their whole world has been turned
upside down. Most of us take our
cars for granted and rely on our cars for everyday use. Once a car is totaled, the question
becomes – what do I do now? A
victim of a wreck may not be able to work (or even get to work) and bring home
an income to support themselves or their families. More importantly, the injured person may not know where to
turn for proper medical treatment.
Once
our law firm is hired to represent an injured client, we immediately provide a
number of services to them. First,
we detail and explain the entire process of how an injury case works. We will listen and answer any questions
the injured victim may have. The
appropriate insurance company or companies are contacted so that the client
does not have to be burdened with chasing paperwork and frustrating telephone
calls.
Our firm will also help
with:
·
Rental car questions;
·
Property damage questions;
·
Medical treatment questions;
Please
be aware that no matter what your injury is, big or small, you should contact
an attorney to evaluate your case.
Every injury is important and every injury is taken seriously at our
firm. Our firm offers FREE initial consultations – and an
accident victim NEVER has to pay our firm unless a recovery is received. We know the accident victim is in a
stressful situation and our law firm is here to help as much as possible.
It
is important to remember that even an accident which results in relatively minor
damage to a vehicle can cause substantial injuries to the vehicle's driver
and/or passengers. Because of
this, it's important to be examined by a doctor following an auto accident as
soon as possible. Our firm has
come in contact with numerous clients who were scared to seek medical treatment
after a car wreck that wasn’t their fault. This is absolutely the wrong thing to do. If you have
been in a car wreck, and are hurt, (and haven’t sought the advice of an
attorney), please see your primary care physician as soon as possible. It is crucial that your doctor examine
you for related injuries. Proper
medical documentation is the key to the insurance companies evaluation of your
claim.
Even
if a collision involves a relatively minor impact, accident victims are still
entitled under Texas law to receive compensation for their injuries. The
insurance companies will try to take advantage of many accident victims by
sometimes offering a small settlement soon after the wreck. If you sign a release – beware that
your claim will be closed and barred forever and your injuries down the line
will not be covered. Don’t get
taken advantage of. Seek the
advice of an attorney ALWAYS before settling or accepting a settlement. My firm will review any preliminary
offers of settlement for FREE.
